2014-2015 Award Winners
Kaitlyn Bunker, Newcomer Award – Kaitlyn has stepped up as the iCON16 co-chair, RMS graduate rep, Region i graduate rep, and is one of our FY’16 section representatives! Kaitlyn is the epitome of “jumping in” and we are lucky to have her in SWE-RMS.
Kirsten Sargent, Professional Development – Kirsten has done a wonderful job jumping in to the PD committee, serving as a co-chair, running the mini conference and increasing our relationship with local companies through technical talks and other events. Last year Kirsten also served as the networking night coordinator for downtown Denver and has taken a lot of initiative to get her company and coworkers involved in the section.
Marissa Stender (Brummitt), Membership Award – as our membership chair, Marissa has taken the reigns of the member welcome event and the holiday party, and has been a wonderful point of contact for new members. Marissa has put together a new member welcome packet to send to SWE members who join our section and has done a fantastic job of extending a warm welcome to new members.
Carly Conley (student member at CSM) – Outreach Award – Carly was nominated for her contributions to the Girls Lead the Way (GLTW) event over the past two years. GLTW is an annual leadership conference for high school girls interested in pursuing engineering careers, co-hosted by SWE-RMS and SWE-CSM. Carly served as the CSM co-chair for the event, overseeing everything from room rentals and meal logistics to speakers and registration.
Ana-Maria Vacca, Newcomer Award – Ana-Maria has attended several RMS events and jumped at joining the leadership team as a Corporate Partnership co-chair. She is also actively seeking ways for SWE-RMS to engage with the Google Women’s Day event. Ana-Maria’s enthusiasm is contagious and we look forward to her future contributions to the section!

RMS at WE23 Los Angeles
Over 50 RMS representatives traveled to Los Angeles to attend the world’s largest conference for women in engineering and technology from October 26-28. More members joined the conference virtually.
